CHRISTIAN SKATE NIGHT

Every Monday night (2011) Stardust in Albany is offering a Christian Skate Night from 6:00 - 8:30 pm. The cost is $3 for everyone who walks in the door and includes skates. As homeschoolers, we are trying to encourage everyone to attend but on July 18, 2011 we plan to make a point to come out. Mark you calendars and plan to join other Christian homeschool families for some fun and fellowship. As a footnote you may also want to know that every Sat from 10 -11 am Stardust also offers a free skating lesson for anyone who comes.

GA Veterans Park August Fellowship

Join us August 11, 2011 for some sun and fellowship. We are meeting at the beach area at 12:30. Bring your own lunch and chairs. Drinks are a must, plus anything you need to make the day better (think sunblock). We are right by the lake so swimming is an option. Please wear modest swim wear. Sand toys are also a good idea for younger children. This is open to any homeschool family regardless of whether they have joined FAMILIES. Tell your friends and come and enjoy the sun and fellowship.

FATHER/SON NIGHT Sept 30

This is a night for the fathers and sons to go out and have some "man time."  This is also the night the film "Courageous" opens in Albany, and that might be a nice addition to this father/son time, if the son is old enough.  Men can coordinate this through the e-mail list if they wish to meet up with other father/son teams.

You can also e-mail us if you want more information. This event is open to all homeschoolers regardless of whether they are a member of FAMILIES....so invite other homeschool families. Most families get out there and wish they had planned to come for a longer time....plan to be there longer, you can always go home sooner if you are not having fun.

Prepare for Fun!

Get ready to meet and fellowship together.

Our annual camp out is the highlight of the year for many of us. It is a wonderful time for the whole family to get to know other families in our group as well as outside of our group.

Teresa usually brings a canopy with tables for people to play games under. We have played lots of card games and even some board games and have even done a puzzle. It will have lights as well so we can play after dark. Do not camp close to the canopy if you like to go to sleep early...this is the place to hang out and have fun.  Many families also bring bikes for their children to ride. Toys or ride on toys for the younger ones.  Teresa actually brings the kitchen sink.

GA NATIONAL FAIR  Oct 6 - 16, 2011

Bring your lunch or buy it at the fair. You do not have to stay together with the group once you go through the gate. You can stay as late as you like. Bring something for water as it usually gets hot. We usually find plenty to do to stay til the fair closes. Check out the website for all the details at www.georgianationalfair.com You can bring food in the gates to help offset the cost to go.
